Fabric Manager, Manufacturing

We are working with a growing, US owned, 50+ year Textile Manufacturer who has multiple sites across the Southeast and Northeast. They mostly produce yarn, upholstery, and industrial textiles and have an excellent reputation in the marketplace. Quality company with Quality people and solid benefits.

The company has an opening for a Fabric Manager in one of their larger (1M sq. ft.) facilities located in north western South Carolina that produces products for their market-leading and globally recognized brand/products. This position is for the 12-hour night shift (7PM – 7AM) and is essentially the “night shift Plant Manager”. The Fabric Manager reports to the Manufacturing Manager and has 3 direct reports (section leaders) with 60-70 hourly associates covering the Finishing, Inspection, and Distribution Center primarily. The Fabric Manager is responsible for overseeing the process flow in the fabric manufacturing areas for their assigned shift. The Fabric Manager should monitor daily performance levels in safety, quality, and productivity and focus on areas that need improvement to enhance the overall performance of their areas of responsibility. The Fabric Manager must work closely with the Manufacturing Manager on staffing and other internal/external issues which may cause interruptions to the process flow in their areas of responsibility. This position should use the knowledge of the areas and their overall performance levels to generate process improvement projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor daily performance levels in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Work closely with the section leaders from each area of responsibility to ensure they have the knowledge and tools needed to be successful
  • Provide feedback to the section leaders on performance levels of each area
  • Conduct daily meetings with section leaders from each area or responsibility
  • Understanding and implementation of company policies
  • Be available to operators in all areas and provide educated feedback
  • Implementation and completion of process improvement projects
  • Special projects as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager or Fabric Plant Manager


  • BS/BA Degree preferred or related field and/or extensive experience in an equivalent role
  • Manufacturing Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of all fabric processing departments
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Computer skills that include data entry, ERP systems, Machine Monitoring
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Possess strong leadership skills
