Lead Estimator

Our Client is a manufacturing company specializing in window treatments and bedding products. For over 25 years they have been meeting the needs of the hospitality industry through their custom fabrication, superior project management, and professional installation. Their mission is to provide the best service, solution, and project management in the industry.  Through expert problem solving and our superior project management, they are able to effectively provide their clients with the service they deserve. This position is located in their Vernon CA offices, five days a week.

Our Lead Estimator will need to be comfortable working under pressure in a deadline driven environment and have a strong background in mathematics. Our goal is to search for a person who is looking to build a long-term career and an individual who would like to become part of an amazing organization. We are searching for someone who likes to teach, enjoys learning and who accepts continuous change to grow both individually and for the corporation.


  • Overall responsible for ensuring that all bid packages are calculated effectively, accurately and on time
  • Delegate and assign responsibilities for estimating team
  • Review project plans and specifications to coordinate complete scope with team members
  • Communicate with customers and sales representatives
  • Negotiate with Vendors/Supplier
  • Prepare job cost analysis for new orders
  • Assist Project Managers with revisions and budget clarifications or changes
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Daily reporting on department progress
  • Evaluate, improve, define, and implement the department’s standard operating procedures


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and/or 5 years’ related experience as a Project Estimator in a manufacturing environment
  • Cost Accounting experience a plus
  • Experience in the hospitality industry, working with designers and purchasing companies is preferred
  • Demonstrate strong communications skills both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to follow through with details and document changes as requested
  • Must be able to manage multiple requests, assess priorities and consistently meet deadlines
  • Good organization skills a must
  • Read blueprints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Ability to analyze information
