The Technical and Sales Support Specialist, Textiles is the primary contact for the customer mill in planning and delivering textile anti-odor finishing solutions, on-time and with high quality. He/she will routinely work with international mills that have been requested by the Brand owner to implement the textile finishing solutions in their fabrics. The Technical Sales Specialist will play an important role and contribute to selecting, qualifying, and training international supply chain partners.

This position will support trial-scale activities with textile mills that correlate to expected textile finishing production processes after scale up and will provide support and sometimes oversee and participate onsite at the production startup at the mill to commercialize the new products.

Core Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to support textile customers at their nominated mills
  • Provide technical leadership to mills in the application of Company’s products, including textile processing and finishing methods
  • Quickly identify project barriers and strategies or solutions to overcome these challenges at the mill level
  • Supervise and audit each step of the application process when running mill trials, normal production or root cause analysis during troubleshooting
  • Aggressively manage and support existing business within established accounts
  • Identify and support the development of new business within established accounts
  • Maintain relationships with key contacts
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Provide support to the sales team in developing new business
  • Develop and execute tactical sales initiatives that will create demand for current and future product offerings
  • Identify customer requirements to help create and expand sales opportunities
  • Identify and manage overall project objectives to achieve high quality finishes, on time, on budget
  • Production trouble shooting / Ongoing QA
  • After market support

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Ability to work with lab equipment, production machinery as well as correlate lab to bulk reproducibility
  • Establish good working relationships with Sales, Business Development, and Marketing teams
  • Liaise with appointed distributors and agents to develop business at new accounts
  • Technical manufacturing experience with textile processing and finishing methods and equipment
  • Experience working on textile projects across time zones and cultures
  • Ability to work independently and remotely and expand company’s international supply chain
  • Excellent textile technical and analytical skills to apply to quality control requirements at mills
  • Ability to communicate value-added services and contribute to service development proposals
  • Time management and prioritization skills; able to simultaneously manage multiple priorities
  • Based on understanding of the customer environment, ability to identify new business opportunities

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline required, Textile related preferred
  • Direct experience managing apparel textile/finishing process projects
  • Able to write and speak English and Chinese (Mandarin) fluently
  • International and domestic travel will be required
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications and email
