This is a high-tech company with a significant body of IP & ambitious growth plans headquartered in England and Portland, Oregon. Serving two main markets, Product & Brand Authentication and Chemical & Biological Detection. This company’s mission is to enable organizations to protect health and revenues through the rapid detection of small molecules.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new sales of our current proprietary taggant and related reader family, as well as delivering sales of new products including our patented in-product authentication platform. The major focus of this role is to drive growth in the Product & Brand Authentication Sector in the US and will involve selling directly to brand owners & supporting supply chain stakeholders.

You will need to have a degree or equivalent in a Technical or Scientific discipline and have an international sales background, with a track record of delivering sales growth through supplying solutions to blue chip brand owners, ideally including an element of software as part of the overall solution. Technical knowledge of inks/printing processes and key account management experience would be beneficial, but as a self-starting “hunting” role, self-motivation, tenacity and creativity are equally important. Given the size & multisite nature of the business you have to be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team & have the ability to work with people on different sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Selling our range of proprietary taggant, readers and delivery systems
  • Developing sales of our in-product Biosensor technology, with a focus on delivering high value long term sales contracts
  • Sales retention through strong relationship management
  • Identification, recommendation and management of sales partners
  • Close liaison with the technology function to provide a high level of technical support to our customers
