Quality Manager

We are working with a growing, 20+ year, innovative and environmentally sound provider of commission dyeing and finishing services including fabric package sales. The company is located in NW South Carolina and provides services for circular/warp knits and woven fabrics for the apparel, industrial, automotive, military, medical, aerospace, home textiles, and filtration markets. The company is looking for a Quality Manager with at least 2 years of Quality Control experience. While textile and dyeing/finishing experience would be great, the company is open to any background with some leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. The company offers a competitive salary, full benefits, and 2 to 3 months of training to ensure success.

The objective of the Quality Manager requires that he/she perform the following tasks routinely and daily with the highest possible efficiency and accuracy:

  • Provide leadership to employees and be knowledgeable of the processes and equipment selected to supervise
  • Ensure that fabric adheres to quality standards. Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final product
  • Determine reasons for issues with the fabric and develop proactive measures for preventing future issues
  • Complete the necessary paperwork for production and Human Resources (counseling records, attendance cards, evaluations, report job openings, etc.)
  • Communicate pertinent information that will enable quality technicians to perform their jobs in a way that produces good morale and ensures good quality
  • Handle difficult employee problems effectively using the guidelines and policies provided by HR
  • Stress the importance of safety and safety training on a day-to-day basis with employees
  • Oversee that the area is a clean and safe work area. Make corrections as needed
  • Communicate with customers/vendors to discuss quality performance
  • Travel, as needed, to customer/vendor sites to witness and observe quality performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or higher education preferred
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to communicate well with operators and management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Familiarity with quality standards and processes
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports
  • Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control
