Role Summary/ Purpose:
The Product Development Manager is the principal contact, owner, and coordinator for all required account and/or brand team support activities from project initiation, development, initial shipment delivery and ongoing maintenance of existing programs. You will collaborate with the assigned account and/or brand team to drive and maximize profitable sales growth through new product placement and servicing existing programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage assigned brands in collaboration with sales & design; owns periodic brand stakeholder meetings, brand direction, assortment plan, and action plans
• Initiate new projects including collaboration across teams to scope and qualify opportunities, develop requirements, monitor progress, and keep key stakeholders informed
• Drive production including collaboration with account and brand teams; determine specs, negotiate costs, manage time and action, and track and confirm samples, specs, and timelines are met
• Manage ongoing programs ensure sales and margin budge targets are achieved, monitor performance trends, proactively engage with account and sales to adjust strategy as needed
• Drive innovation through market understanding; develop and maintain competitive analysis through comp. shopping, factory inquiries, and account partnerships
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of textiles product development experience preferably in bed and bath categories
• University degree in textile merchandising, production, or related field
• 5+ years of experience directly working with factories responsible for costing & negotiations
• Project and process management expertise
• Strong Excel user with mathematical/ P&L mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
