Innovation Manager Global Projects

We are working with a leading international personal hygiene group in the baby care, feminine hygiene, and adult care markets for consumers, retailers, institutional and private health care providers in over 15 countries. The company has dozens of facilities and brands, with Billions in annual revenue. The company has a need for an Innovation Manager Global Projects to support the Innovation Strategy team. This position is located in the greater Atlanta, GA area and will report to the VP of Innovation Strategy & Deployment.

Job Purpose:

  • Feed the innovation funnel across the lifestyle/sustainable innovations and packaging
  • Synchronize the innovation plan with overall strategy plan, enable prioritizations and drive scale across regions
  • Drive projects forward and drive the communication internally and externally on innovation of sustainability/lifestyle
  • Contribute to the category global innovation process such as the Global innovation Council and Global Innovation meetings
  • Ensure the company stays competitive in terms of product and business innovations on a global scale

Main responsibilities and key tasks:

  • Identify innovation opportunities based on consumer needs, insights and trends with a global view
  • Build competitive intel (IP, launches, etc.)
  • Understand retailer strategies and customer requests
  • Understand the regulatory landscape and labeling
  • Identify what’s possible – technology trends, raw material developments, develop external stakeholder’s partners (suppliers, startups, etc.)
  • Translate new technical ideas into concepts that can win with consumer, customers, investors
  • Transform ideas into idea cards that give first view on possible claims and benefits
  • Facilitate innovation workshops to feed the innovation pipeline
  • Help articulate what’s needed into technical KPI’s
  • Translate ideas into concrete value proposition and enable prioritization
  • Assess commercial potential via early concept testing with consumers, feedback from early retail customer exposure
  • Support through fast prototyping and creation of engaging first content (early storytelling)
  • Collect development needs (FTE, CAPEX, etc.) to enable decisions to proceed with projects
  • Govern the global innovation pipeline across divisions for sustainability/lifestyle and ensure fit with corporate strategy through annual strategy planning
  • Identify development synergies across divisions and categories
  • Be central source of know-how on lifestyle/sustainability (competition, market, raw material intel, claims, labels, etc.) to support the growth of lifestyle brands across categories
  • Create the commercial business case and defend before the executive committee for approval along with R&D, Finance, etc.
  • Coordinate consumer learning plan and work with divisions to consolidate the overall customer plan
  • With the help of the Innovation Communication Manager, create the visualization and narrative for innovation toolkits that will inspire internal and external stakeholders
  • Build the holistic story with consumer insights, market data, competitive view
  • Provide content and technical date to create and substantiate claims and performance icons
  • Review the output (graphical creations or copywriting) to ensure they transmit the envisioned storyline
  • Support the division team with content or meeting with key customers
  • Support the internal and external communications agenda on innovation with events, presentations, annual report, etc. with the help of the Communications Manager


  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, Economics, Science, or equivalent
  • Any education/knowledge related to circular economy is a plus
  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, product development, category management:  innovation design and qualification, consumer insights generation, packaging development
  • Sustainable/circular products and business models experience is a plus
  • Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) experience with brands and/or retail brands in multiple countries and categories
  • BTB and/or BTC communication experience
  • Multifunctional project management experience
  • Hygiene (baby care, adult care, feminine care) experience is an asset
