Operations Manager

This position is responsible for directing, controlling, and coordinating all aspects of plant production in order to maximize the long-term and short-term profitability of the company.
Responsibilities: This requires working with Team Members (in purchasing, production, distribution, customer service, and human resources) to develop good working relationships and high morale. Leading a production team; to create a work environment which reflects
a commitment to employees, safety, product quality, and positive employee relations using Lean and Continuous Improvement Techniques. Communicating with Team Members on project timelines and tasks that need to be completed immediately. Working knowledge and proven success with production metrics. Data driven. Other responsibilities include developing and training Team Members in use of the ERP system, group discussions, and troubleshooting areas that might cause problems with operations and logistics.
Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree B.A. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 10 plus years related experience in a manufacturing plant in a cut and sew environment. Industrial glove experience is a plus. Textile manufacturing experience highly preferred. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, maintenance, shipping/receiving, sanitation, quality assurance, accounting, safety, human resources, material management, and logistics. Strong business acumen, with proven bottom-line driven results.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills including Microsoft Office programs. Solid ERP experience (Apprise or similar system a plus); “super user” of ERP desired.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Display sound judgment and decision-making leadership and organizational skills. Ability to implement Lean initiatives. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
