Director of Sales

Our client is a technology company that powers merchandise sales for the music & entertainment industry. They provide turn-key solutions for apparel & merchandise, design, logistics, and technology. This company has established themselves as a leader in the music & merchandise industry and are looking to expand their reach into other new markets. This is an exciting time to join this rapidly growing powerhouse.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales to lead a brand new division. As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading and driving a sales team to achieve revenue targets and expand market share. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing effective sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and managing a high-performing sales team.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy, including setting sales goals, targets, and forecasts aligned with the company’s growth objectives
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sales opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activities
    • Collaborate with the executive team to define pricing strategies, product positioning, and sales plans to maximize revenue and market penetration
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to drive individual and team success
    • Establish sales territories, quotas, and goals for the sales team, and regularly monitor performance against targets
    • Recruit, hire, and onboard new sales team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training to excel in their roles
  • Business Development and Key Account Management:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and key accounts
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing and product development, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives
  • Sales Performance Analysis and Reporting:
    • Track, analyze, and report on sales performance metrics, including revenue, sales pipeline, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs
    • Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement, optimize sales processes, and drive continuous sales performance enhancements
    • Present regular sales reports and updates to the executive team, providing strategic recommendations based on market trends and sales data
  • Industry and Competitive Awareness:
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities, providing insights and recommendations to enhance our competitive advantage
    • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build relationships, promote the company, and identify potential business opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, preferably within the apparel or merchandise industry
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of sales strategies, market dynamics, and customer behavior
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve targets
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive sales performance improvements
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and sales productivity tools
  • Willingness to travel as required for business development activities
