Operations Director

This global, international company is a dominant player in the Chemical and Polymer business. They cover multiple market segments and are growing fast and making the right investments. The Operations Manager for primary operations areas. Practice humility and integrity and lead by example in all areas of compliance and EHS. Be a leader that supports the vision. Ensure we utilize teamwork whereby individuals unselfishly subordinate to the overall success of the entire group. Strive for continual improvement in processes and people systems. In addition, lead the Chemical & Physical Laboratory, and Quality Assurance & Quality Control, Lean Six Sigma, and Energy Reduction Functions.

• Fiber Manufacturing experience

Responsibilities:
• Manager Spin and Stretch operations
• Responsible for hiring and training (selection/development)
• Responsible for safety yields cost and quality
• Provide the right resources to maintain a safe workplace, fulfill all legal requirements, manufacture products according to customer requirements, reduce cost, improve equipment reliability, keep a good work climate and promote continual improvement
• Ensure Employees know their job risk and have the knowledge, skills and tools to take mitigation actions to control them
• Define expectations and success measures to improve the profitability of each product line and ensure they are communicated and understood throughout the organization
• Ensure we have the right people (Skilled, Talented and Motivated) to accomplish all defined goals
• Foster, mentor and be a role model for all employees. Participate in some external interviews to ensure the right folks are brought into the organization

Expectations:
• Lead by example and serve as a role model for compliance acting at all times with highest integrity and according with all laws and regulations
• Set the expectation that all incidents are preventable. Strive to create a culture that embraces behavioral based safety and support further education of key safety risks and accountability is clearly understood. Expectation is zero recordable and zero NOV's
• Conduct periodic audits (safe assessment) of activities involving the safe work permit process and ensure flawless execution:
o Lockout
o Hot Work
o Confined Space
o Hot Material PPE
o Fall Protection
• Ensure that employees actively participate in and complete all compliance training in a timely manner and demonstrate subject matter knowledge, training and execution
• Create an atmosphere that motivates employees to identify and challenge potential non-compliant behavior, and timely report it to appropriate company resources
• Manage TOX 2 and 3 to ensure 100 % compliance with the law
• Ensure that employees are appropriately disciplined for non-compliant behavior and employees are appropriately rewarded for compliant behavior
• Recognize in a timely manner employee accomplishments
• Execute the capital projects (Complaint, Safe, right, on time and on budget) that help improve
• the business performance and fulfill compliance & contractual obligations
• Customer Satisfaction - Provide product that meets or exceeds customer requirements
• Improve TQA past due performance. Implement improved non-conformance process
• Control area cost at budget, unless changes backed by approved DMF. Achieve new cost bets in outside services and maintenance spending and logistics
• Encourage potential problem analysis mentality before changes are executed to ensure success

Include any additional contributions of roles toward company, site, area, function and individual targets, goals and expectations:
• Food Safety System Certification ISO-22000:
o Maintain FSSC 22000 standards in 2015
• Lean Six Sigma Implementation:
o Foster the data driven culture and Learning Organization
o Execute LSS Projects, lead Site Team, communicate results to organization
