The VP, Product Development, Textiles will have an immediate connection to our Values (People, Service, Quality and Innovation). Essential Responsibilities:
• Build seasonal lifestyle concepts and product ideas by collaborating and aligning with cross categorical Product Development partners and Merchandising teams
• Bring new concepts, product ideas and a strong point of view to ideation and development process
• Research trends, competition and resources
• Present initial product concepts based on research of trends, competition, and resources to accomplish overall merchandising focus and assortment driven needs
• Partner with Merchandising teams to develop/maintain businesses and strategize long-term goals
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of overall merchandising vision, current business performance and brand strategy in all proposed concepts
• Drive every stage of development process from initial design concepts to final sample approval while meeting timelines
• Lead and oversee the Textiles Product Development team in all phases of development to drive to a production ready/approved sample
• Partner directly with manufacturers to ensure the vision and design are executed
• Communicate in a consistent and timely manner all progress and issues that arise in development within the PD team and with Merchant teams
• Provide support and troubleshoot issues for team members and cross-functional partners
• Work closely with Sourcing and Merchandising teams to identify appropriate manufacturers
• Drive approval process, follow up on questions and direction to insure quick turnaround of products
• Build strong partnership with PD peers and Merchandising teams
• Lead and guide Product Managers throughout the development and sample execution process by helping them establish vendor relations and partnerships with sourcing and merchandising teams
• Schedule design projects to insure completion within necessary timeline
• Lead development communication and build collaborative relationships with sourcing partners and vendor manufacturers
• Plan and schedule inspiration, sample review and vendor trips
• Forecast, track and reconcile assigned budget categories
