Product Manager/Director of Product Marketing

This is a multibillion dollar Floor Covering company that is poised for growth in the US and will have four plants in the Southeast. They are a leader both in the production of raw materials and semi-finished products (Polypropylene, Granules and Fibers) and in finished products (Technical Textiles, Cushion Vinyl, Needle Felt, Parquet, Laminate, Tuft, Bath Rugs and Fabrics). We have two positions; a Product Manager and Director for Product Marketing.

Product Manager:
• Responsible for the strategic product marketing direction for the assigned product category. This includes conducting market research, product and price point positioning and driving product categories through all channels of distribution. May be responsible for one or multiple product categories
• Own and deliver the budgeted financial and strategic performance objectives
• Lead the development of strategic vision and direction/plan for the product category
• Create and implement a multi-generational product plan with product offering, pricing/margins, channel differentiation, and positioning that delivers competitive advantage and drives profitable growth
• Management of customer requests and development
• Assist in the development of the annual operating plan for product lines
• Partner in product pricing with Pricing, Sales, and Finance
• Work with Marketing to create effective product launch, promotion and communication strategies for consumers, key influencers, and trade channel partners
• Partner cross-functionally to support operational excellence
• Collaborate with Sales to achieve the sales operating plan
• Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape for opportunity
• Ensure product offering and positioning is consistent with our brand propositions

Profile (Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree
• 6-9 years of Resilient product management experience
• Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen
• Working knowledge of P&L and product profitability management
• Strong strategic marketing skills - i.e. brand/product strategy, positioning, pricing, research, etc.

Director of Product Marketing:
• The Product Market Manager’s main responsibilities will be segmented into two areas - product management and product marketing
• As the product readiness “owner”, you will work closely with development teams to define and deliver innovative, market-leading products. This will be accomplished by coordinating all aspects of the product management process from product ideation to product launch including opportunity analysis, pricing/competitive strategy and requirements gathering
• Understand the product and market requirements by conducting research, taking part in industry associations and meeting with prospects, customers and partners
• Analyze the competition and identify competitive strategies, new product ideas and future innovations
• Develop pricing strategies that are competitive and meet profitability objectives
• Execute product launch plans and timelines (including pilot programs and certification testing) by working closely with product development, engineering and manufacturing teams
• Provide detailed product information, training and positioning to sales teams, customers and partners
• Determine product/market gaps and determine new geographical/vertical industry opportunities
• Manage entire product life cycle including ongoing Product Portfolio Review (product mix, product pricing, product volumes and product discontinuation)
• Provide accurate revenue, pipeline and forecasts
• As the go-to-market “expert”, you will work closely with sales, marketing, customer service and global counterparts to develop sales and marketing plans that meet revenue, profitability, brand awareness, customer satisfaction and growth objectives
• Define a sales and marketing strategy to build brand awareness, increase sales and pipeline and generate new growth opportunities
• Build relationships with marketing teams of key customers, partners and industry associations and implement joint sales and marketing activities where possible
• Identify and assess strategic, technology and industry partnerships
• Showing marketing effectiveness by measuring revenue, managing the sales funnel and reporting other quantifiable metrics
• Act as a company spokesperson and work with key industry influencers to establish a thought leadership position in a specified market

Profile (Qualifications):
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager with demonstrated success developing product strategies, bringing/launching new products to market and managing product life cycles
• Background in resilient flooring would be beneficial
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, technical or related field (MBA a plus)
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills and analytical abilities
• Experience working collaboratively with global organizations, customers, partners and external stakeholders
• Must be agile, engaged and willing to lead
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
