West Coast Sales Manager

This privately held company is involved in supplying materials to the Aerospace industry as well as others. Their focus is advanced materials. This US owned company that has been in business for 20+ years and is well financed. Full benefits and company car provided. Looking for someone on the West Coast, preferably in southern CA. Base Salary + Bonus.

Manage all territory activities including achieving annual sales budget, coordinating technical support, product development initiatives and implementing new revenue growth strategies with a goal of increasing managed revenue by 5% per annum.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage $12-20M in sales across several different industries using rolled goods for composite applications.
• Establish and maintain robust account plans driven by a focused strategy
• Travel: 60-70% out of office supported by a 60-day advance calendar
• Maintain revenue position (budget) and optimize share
• Order Facilitation
• Coordinate/Communicate with Customer Service
• Participate in logistics
• Technical/Quality Conduit to Manufacturing
• Manage R&D inquiries
• Make Product Recommendations
• Grow Company’s reach within the customer
• Schedule regular meetings with multiple disciplines at customer / build relations
• Pursue and manage ‘voice of customer’
• Align Company’s resources to support the customer bases’ technology road map
• Develop new opportunities using a Solution Selling methodology
• Write and maintain account plans
• Create Evaluation plans as necessary
• Maintain price lists
• Negotiate prices
• Annual pricing / create long terms Sales / Supply Agreements
• Manage specification reviews
• Coordinate / manage technical and quality issues for plant-based personnel
• Provide monthly forecasts that flow into a ‘Waterfall’ matrix
• Provide monthly forecasting updates
• Manage consignment levels where appropriate
• Perform quarterly consignment audits where necessary
• Submit all reports / meet all commitments as required on time
• Submit weekly expense reports
• Contribute to and maintain an Opportunity Pipeline
• Participate in weekly / monthly meetings with Sales Manager focused on standard work and new revenue generation
• Communicate with management daily
• Write and manage a travel budget
• Facilitate customer quality audits
• Support ISO / AS regulations and requirements
• Coordinate visits and manage schedule for personnel to tier 2 accounts
• Maintain a 60-day calendar with heavy focus on customer interaction
• Prospect for new revenue weekly
• Write annual budget for assigned accounts Participate in a Lean culture and the associated proprietary business system

Knowledge, Background, skill and Abilities:
• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts
• Minimum of 5 years Business to Business professional sales experience
• Superior communication skills
• Knowledge of Solution Selling or similar professional sales methodology
• Understanding of lean management tools / lean concepts
• Self-starter / motivated / punctual
• Composites industry experience preferred
• Prefer someone living in Southern California
• Company car provided
